Independent international consultants have completed the following exploration work:
- Identified 29 targets on the Jupiter project area;
- Defined the lithium minerals present on site;
- Identified the surface controls for five target areas;
- Collected surface and sub-surface samples from all targets.
32 initial sample results show an average of over 3.4% lithium oxide (Li2O). These samples were collected by three separate independent contractors and processed in ISO accredited laboratories (Nagrom and SGS Laboratories).
To confirm the dominant lithium ore source, x-ray powder diffraction studies have been completed by Mineral Analytics (Perth, Australia). Spodumene (39%) has been identified as the dominant lithium bearing ore.
Independent international mining consultants, Torque Resources, has collected sub-surface samples and has provided preliminary assessment. Torque reports: “Spodumene, Petalite and Lepidolite are abundant throughout the exposed workings created by opportunistic local miners.
Depths up to 20 meters below surface have been observed with concentrations of lithium containing minerals increasing with depth. Pegmatites of this nature can continue within the lithium window for a considerable depth, with 100 meters below surface being well within the range of acceptable extrapolation”.
The following table summarizes the laboratory results taken from various targets over the project area.
With reference to the table above, lithium results have been analysed using inductive coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP – MS). The lithium results have then been converted to a percentage and then multiplied by a factor of 2.135 to derive the lithium oxide value (Li2O%).
